My brother’s wife has been fighting Ovarian Cancer for almost 4 years now. They are parents of a 4 year old, and although my brother is working as much as he can to maintain their health insurance, their bills are still estimating $3000/per wk for her treatments. They had a comfortable savings, which is getting close to being depleted. Any info is appreciated.

Have your local newspaper write an article about your sister in law and about what the family is needing. and have a large group of friends to a car wash at a local restaurant or what ever facility in your neighborhood will allow you to have one at their place of business.
Just make sure to advertise like crazy… People will donate as well.. Good Luck and GOD Bless..

Your family needs to focus on their health insurance status and qualifications for government-managed health care. If their savings are running out, then they may qualify for Medicaid or another government program. Contact your state’s Department of Health to learn more.
Car washes and bake sales are great, but they are only going to raise a few hundred dollars at best. Your relatives need tens of thousands of dollars. Focus on the insurance.

do you or any of your friends play a sport really well? you could rent a gym and advertise it really well and charge 30-40 bucks per person and teach them all the skills to get better. i went to one today, and they raised like 3,650 dollars. if you do one every week you could build the money up.
some other ideas:
–write a song about cancer, record it, put it on a cd, then sell it.
–make adorable glass jewelry, then sell it at a booth for around 5-15 dollars depending on it.

lots of good ideas in using the media and local television. I would try this twist…
See if a local card room will host a poker tournament for her so that she gets all or part of the money for her expenses. With Texas Hold’em so popular it is becoming a way to fund charities and their causes.
I would call some up and see if they are willing to help you.
Good luck,
Dave.

Look, sod the 4 year old, and to hell with the husband- plenty more fish in the sea. She’s going to die and it jolly well serves the chemo munchin radiotherapy heed right! I’m glad she’s going to die.
